TPS is back at the Drake with another spoken word battle concert!
Featuring national champ Amoya Reé! Amoya Reé is a Jamaican-Canadian performance poet and 2018 National Champion. Her writing is rooted in her lived experiences as immigrant & young mother. She began exploring performance poetry in 2008 & since then she has shared her stories in classrooms & boardrooms across Ontario. Most recently she sat as captain of the 2018 Toronto Poetry Slam team who were semi-finalists at the National Poetry Slam in Chicago and won the national championship in Guelph, Ontario.

CIPS Qualifier Slam featuring Gavin Russell - Feb 13

Which talented Toronto poet will represent Toronto Poetry Slam at the annual Canadian Individual Poetry Slam (CIPS) Championships in Vancouver, aka Verses: Festival of Words? This is the qualifying slam to see who will make that trip to BC!

A UNIQUE FORMAT FOR THIS NIGHT'S SLAM:

4 poems: each 1 minute, 2 minute, 3 minute and 4 minute (with 10-second grace periods).

Toronto Poetry Slam Finals is coming and tickets are now gone! We hope you got yours, Toronto!

On Feb 23, you'll get to check out the incredible ground-breaking poetry of our feature poet, the one and only Saul Williams! This will be one of the biggest features we've ever had on our stage. 

General admission. Doors at 7 and show at 8pm. Wheelchair accessible. All ages.
