As judged by April's Canadian Individual Poetry Slam competition in Vancouver...Lady Vanessa is the top poet in Canada and the timing couldn't be better for TPS fans...because she is coming to feature at our show on Sunday May 6!

As always, doors at 7 signup to slam/open mic at 730 show at 8pm.

lady vanessa cardona is a colombian spoken word artist, activist, story teller, theatre practitioner and photographer. she aims to create unapologetic honest art based on genuine life experience as a first generation, immigrant woman living in turtle island. she started her spoken word career in windhoek, namibia and furthered herself in edmonton/treaty 6 territory.

lady was part of the 2016 semi finalist canadian national edmonton slam team and the 2017 finalist canadian national edmonton slam team. she has written and performed her own one woman show called "three ladies" at the edmonton found festival of 2017. she is also a co-creator and performer of "whiteface". she features in the published book, "water" and is in the process of publishing her chapbook, "la sangre lllama". lady is also the 2018 edmonton individual slam champion.

lady believes in the healing powers art provides for our community. healing is not polite, art allows us to be the frankest versions of ourselves so that we may strengthen our souls, minds and the community around us. art is where we come together through unity of purpose.
