It's back! Our slam to determine who will rep TPS at the 2018 Women of the World Poetry Slam in Dallas returns Dec 12 at Supermarket.

Featuring Paulina O'Kieffe and hosted by Cassandra Myers.

You can compete in this slam if a) you identify as female or as a non-binary individual and b) have competed at least twice during the TPS season and are ranked among the top 12 poets who can qualify for this slam.

Doors 730 and show at 8pm. No open mic.

Bio of our feature poet:
Paulina O'Kieffe is a spoken word artist, producer, and artist educator. The Founder of Guerrilla of the Word Productions and the Words by the Water Collective, Paulina is influenced by her diverse descent and her work in multiple communities, bringing her passion to the page and the stage. Her poetry appears in print in ‘Guerillas of the Word’ and “If I Ran the School.” Paulina has performed, produced and hosted shows across the City of Toronto and beyond for the last 13 years. Paulina was a member of the Up From the Roots Poetry SLAM Team who were finalists at the 2015 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word and is the producer of the Words by the Water Literary Festival. Paulina has been using spoken word to teach young people in a number of communities about self-education, expression and empowerment. She continues to teach workshops working with many schools and community organizations.
