Toronto Poetry Slam is back with our semifinals tournament! The top four poets in this closed slam will move on to compete at TPS Finals!

Featuring they 2016 HYP Slam Team reppin Hamilton!
HYP was created in 2012 to give young people the tools to reimagine art, culture, and our collective and individual identities - building a community of empathy and understanding in the places we call home. The 2016 HYP Team isn't afraid to bring their words to a knife fight. Chukky Ibe boils his words in transatlantic magic. Eddie Lartey tangos with bars that always swing with the right hook, and has a dictionary full of love potion poems. Hira Nadeem will have you starry-eyed as her words pull the loose threads from the cosmos and stitch together three minute infinities. Victoria Wojciechowska is a medicine cabinet of metaphors, guaranteed to cure a literary hangover. From local to national competition, these four poets are a Steelcity alloy in colours for which names don't yet exist. Bringing home the lessons gleaned from poetry, there is no better feeling then transposing those keys into our community.

Camaur
Reema Sh
Transient
Same Difference
Luke Reece
Evolutionary
Shelly
