TPS returns with a very special performance from an Ontario star, Wes Ryan! Expect poetry AND dance, together at last!

As always, anyone can compete at the slam or perform on the open mic.

Featuring Wes Ryan! Wes Ryan is genre-mashing performance artist based in Peterborough, Ontario. With a penchant for physical comedy and narrative, Wes addresses social issues with slap-stick tenacity and lyrical acrobatics. A member of the Peterborough Poetry Slam Collective, he has twice represented the city at the Canadian Independent Poetry Slam, was Peterborough Slam Champion in 2013 and 2014, and has organized many spoken word events including the 2015 Slamtario Provincial Spoken Word Festival.

In 2016 Wes featured at Brant Rant and the Windsor Poetry Slam, presented poetic arguments for traumatic growth through poetry at The Sexual Consent Conference at Trent University and the Grounding Trauma Conference with Gabor Mate, Wes also won the Urban Legends Invitational in Ottawa and work-shopped an upcoming production about sexual assault survivors and the justice system called The Ghomeshi Effect, to be staged in January.
